Dear SMUUCh Members,

When I began my search for a congregation this last winter, I turned to my senior colleagues and mentors to learn about my options.  SMUUCh was on the mind of everyone.  I was told that exciting things were happening in Shawnee Mission, that you’ve solved the problem of space limitations, and that you have an amazing, forward-thinking spirit.  So, you can imagine that I was thrilled to be chosen as one of your four pre-candidates, and was even more excited once I met your wonderful search committee and saw firsthand the ministry you’ve created.  

Certainly, amongst all the congregations that I visited, SMUUCh stood alone as the perfect fit for me.  It was a glorious day last week to find out that the search committee and I were in such a clear and mutual agreement about each other.  I am so happy to be joining you in your ministry!  I have a great deal of respect for who you are and what you’ve done already…and I’m looking forward to what we will become together.

I will be visiting you during the first week of May, and I hope that you’ll find time for us to get to know each other.  Please look at the materials the search committee puts out and include yourself in the visit.  I want to meet you!
